The University of York are seeking individuals with experience of having gambled, or having been impacted by harm through gambling, to help examine the role which Social Media currently plays in normalising gambling participation, and to explore future use of Social Media as a medium for preventative intervention.
If you have had experience of seeing or accessing prompts, advertising, or influencing relating to gambling products and/or participation delivered through social media channels and would like to share that knowledge with the research team to better understand the role which social media does and can play in gambling engagement then we would be interested in hearing from you.
GLEN will be helping facilitate this part of the research project and the format will initially involve sharing a 1-2 page summary of the project aims with participants and then asking them to share and discuss their thoughts during a 1 hour meeting to be held online, most likely at a date to be mutually agreed sometime in October.
Participants will be offered £35 each for taking part. This can be payable in the form of vouchers or by bank transfer.
To apply, or to find out more details, please email info@glenetwork.org and include the phrase “York Social Media” in the subject title.
